Q: Is Outrun Hunger a run or walk?
Both! We encourage walkers and runners of all abilities to participate. You are welcome to run, walk, skip - it's up to you! For those who want to walk or with small children, we encourage you to start at the back of the starting line. 

Q: Can I sign up as a team?
Yes! Outrun hunger with your colleagues, family or friends. Visit our team page for more information. Download our helpful "how to sign up" document here

Q: Can I dress up?
Absolutely! We ENCOURAGE you to get CREATIVE! See our Pinterest page for inspiration.

Q: Where can I find race results after the race? 
Results for Outrun Hunger will be posted online on our event site after the race. 

Q: Do all participants receive a medal? 
All participants in the 5K will receive a medal. If you are participating in the 1K Color Dash, you will not receive a participant medal.

Q: Do I receive a t-shirt with my registration?
All participants in the 5K and 1K will be give the option for a shirt. Please note that our shirt deadline is May 17, 2024. Anyone registering after this date will not be guaranteed a t-shirt. We will do our best to estimate quantity and sizing needs but can not guarantee correct sizes to anyone registering after this date. When race t-shirts are ordered the inventory will be placed into the RunSignUp registration portal. This means that if you are given the option of a certain size that size is available. If a certain size is not available it will not be an option during registration. 

Q: Will there be team or fundraising awards?
In the spirit of friendly competition, awards will be given as follows: 

  • Top Team Fundraiser
  • Top Individual Fundraiser
  • Fastest Team (co-ed, male, female) - 5K only
  • Most Team Spirit 
  • Largest Team

Q: Will the run be timed? 
The 5K will be chip timed. Participants wear a timing chip integrated with their bib number that starts their individual time when they cross the start line and stops it when they cross the finish line.  

Q: Where do I pick up my race packet and t-shirt? 
Details about packet pick up coming soon!

Q: Are dogs allowed at the event? 
Dogs are not allowed on the 5K course. Dogs are permitted at the Party Pavilion and in the 1K Color Dash, but keep in mind dogs will be splashed with color powder. While it's non-toxic, your furry friends may not be happy about it. Please use your discretion. 

Q: Can I bring my child's stroller? 
Strollers are allowed for walkers & joggers only and must start at the back of the starting line. Please note that you are responsible for your child's safety in the stroller. 

Q: Will there be water stations on the course? 
There will be water available on the course and at the Party Pavilion.  

Q: Will the race happen if there is inclement weather? 
Outrun Hunger will happen rain or shine. The run could be delayed due to lightning or other dangerous conditions.  

Q: What can I expect at the Party Pavilion?  
This community-wide event offers summer fun for all ages. All event long at the Party Pavilion, you'll enjoy live music, kid-friendly summer activities, photo ops, vendors, and more.

Q: If I cannot attend for any reason, can I expect a refund? 
Entry fees are non-refundable and entries are non-transferable. This means once you have registered, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate, and you may not give or sell your number to anyone else. Exceptions will be made if you are on active military duty and you get deployed. You can send us a copy of your orders, and we will refund your entry fee.
