Help support American Perimeter Trail Conference (APTC) in sponsoring Rue McKenrick on his final leg to get home to Bend, Oregon. Rue left Bend, OR in July 2019 and has been hiking continuously until October 2020 when a medical condition forced him home to rest and heal. He hiked over 9,000 miles at this point. on the first scouting hike of the APT. He has 3,000 miles left to hike from North Dakota back to Bend, OR this spring and summer. Join us for a virtual 5k or challenge yourself to see how many miles you can hike, run or walk until Rue makes it home to Bend. In addition consider supporting one of your local food banks, or donating to support a food bank in Philadelphia, PA or Bend, OR. A small percentage of each race registration will be split between these food banks, as well as supporting the APTC.
The American Perimeter Trail will be America's newest and longest premiere hiking trail at over 12,000 miles upon completion. Proceeds from this race go to supporting the last leg of Rue's journey and the next steps to turning the American Perimeter Trail Conference (a 501c(3) Oregon based organization) into the American Perimeter Trail, a National Scenic Trail, similar to the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail and Continental Divide Trail. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to foodbanks in Bend, OR and Philadelphia, PA.
We can't wait to take this journey with you. Don't forget to tag and follow us in your posts!
