Description
On Sunday, October 27th, 2019, Women’s Resources will be hosting its seventh annual “POUND THE PAVEMENT PURPLE 5K” run/walk, at the Pleasant Valley School District campus in Brodheadsville. Last year’s 5K completely exceeded our expectations, and we are excited and motivated to see where we can take the event this year.
We invite walkers, runner, joggers, and rollers (baby strollers and wheelchairs) of all ages to come out and participate.
The Course: This is a 5K race around Pleasant Valley High School. The course is a flat, scenic route on blacktop which begins at the athletic stadium, flows through the parking lot and on township roads then returns to the high school for the finish. This course is stroller-friendly!
For nearly 40 years, Women’s Resources has been committed to its mission to end domestic and sexual violence through the provision of quality, confidential services. Our programs include temporary emergency shelter; legal advocacy; a 24-hour hotline and counseling for adults and children. We advocate on behalf of victims’ rights with the medical, educational, human service, and criminal justice systems.
