Description

Join us for the 1st Annual Jared Meyers Legacy Race!  This is a 5K charity run/1 mile walk within the Ellwood City community in honor of Jared Meyers on Saturday, August 3.

Jared tragically passed away unexpectedly in March of this year due to “Hypertensive Cardiovascular Disease in combination with Myocardio Bridging”, which is an underlying heart defect that he was not aware he had. He leaves behind his young wife, their infant son, many loving family members, countless close friends, and his local family business, that he was very proud of.

As an esteemed member of our community, the mark he leaves on the lives of many is indelible, and we believe that hosting this event is a fitting tribute to his memory.  This event aims to celebrate the life and legacy of Jared while also raising funds for his only son, Griffin.  Our race team is dedicated to ensuring that this event is organized with the utmost respect and sensitivity, reflecting the values and spirit of Jared and the entire Meyers family.

There will be a 5k run and a 1-mile fun walk option, as well as Chinese auction baskets, a 50/50 drawing, and food trucks.

With your race registration, you will receive a race t-shirt and a swag bag at the event.

Trophies will be given to the top 3 overall finishers for both men and women.  Medals will be given to the top 3 finishers in each of these age categories (male and female separately): 13 & younger, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50 & above.

Strollers and dogs are permitted on the race course.  Dogs must be on a leash and you must clean up after them.

“DO BETTER” - Something that Jared lived by! His big heart and rare level of self-motivation allowed him to perform extraordinarily in all aspects of life, from athletics, to relationships, and business. When participating in this event, may it instill that same “DO BETTER” mentality in you that Jared lived by every day, constantly choosing to elevate his outputs!
