Description
The EARS bunnies need your help!
Rabbits make great family pets but too often they are surrendered, abandoned, or neglected. EARS is a no kill shelter committed to finding a loving home for each and every one of their rescues. Erie Area Rabbit Society and Rescue provides daily care for over 90 bunnies (food, shelter, vet visits, surgeries, utilities, etc). Receiving no other funding, these fundraisers are EARS' primary method of generating revenue for the care of these great bunnies.
This year is especially critical because EARS is currently operating at critical capacity and closed to intakes! As a no kill shelter the rescue will typically operate near capacity but we are at critical capacity right now. We currently have 98 rabbits in our care. The shelter has 18 more rabbits than we can comfortably house and our fosters are full. Your participation and assistance will help us create resources, increase outreach efforts, and afford care for these incredible rabbits.
About EARS
EARS is the only rabbit-exclusive shelter in the Erie area. We rescue abandoned and surrendered bunnies. We provide them with a good diet, exercise, vet care, spay/neuter, safety, and love. We provide education on proper bunny care, and adopt to good indoor forever homes.
Erie Area Rabbit Society & Rescue (EARS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of rabbits.
Rabbits are the third most surrendered pet yet most shelters lack the knowledge and/or resources to adequately care for them. Since 2013, EARS has cared for hundreds of domestic rabbits from various backgrounds including surrenders, hoarding situations, cruelty cases, those abandoned outside even left behind in homes when people have moved away.
Our shelter is committed to providing the proper care, including medical and spay/neuter, as well as the loving attention that these rabbits need while they await adoption into their forever home.
We are also passionate about educating the public on the joy of rabbits as indoor pets and their care.
EARS is a 100% no-kill shelter and receives no public funding. We rely entirely on private contributions.
