What: A chance to race XC in a safe environment on an all grass, pretty fast course. Please read all of the race guidelines below. There will be a series of races every Sunday for 7 weeks. The race distance for the first week will be all 2 miles. The 2nd week, we will add a couple of heats of 5k and then we'll adjust the schedule to fit the needs of the running community. We know that people want to race. We want these races to be very safe but we also want an outlet for athletes to challenge themselves.
When: Sunday mornings September 20, September 27, October 4, October 11, October 18, October 25 and November 1. The first race will start at 8:15AM each week. We will start a race every 45:00. For the 5ks, there will be heats and waves. Please make sure that you know exactly what heat and wave you're in. Waves will be 10 seconds apart with a limit of 15 people per wave. You'll sign up for the heat that you'd like to be in. We will open registration the Sunday before the race at 3:00 PM. There will be no refunds and no race day registration.
Where: Exton Park. Parking will be in the Exton Park Parking lot on Church Farm Lane and at the Valley Creek Corporate Center. There is no parking at the Chester Valley Trail Parking lot.
1-Please do not come to the race if you have any Covid-19 symptoms or you have any reason to believe that you have been exposed to Covid 19.
2-There will be no spectators allowed on the course. Parents may walk their children to registration but must stay at the registration area. You may not go out on the course. We'd prefer it if you stayed in your car. A coach with 8 or more athletes may go out on the course. That person would have to wear a mask and stay at least 6 feel off of the course at all times.
3-You may arrive at the race 30:00 before the start of the race. Other than heat 1, you may not warm up on the course. You may warm up in other areas of the park. Please leave the park immediately after your race is finished. Please don't warm up on the soccer fields.
4-Please wear a mask to number pickup. You will be given a disposable mask to wear to the start. You must wear that to the start. You will take it off at the start and tuck it in your shorts or hold onto it. When you finish, after you stop breathing hard, you will put it back on to walk back to your car/parents.
5-There will be no bathrooms at the park. You are responsible for bringing your own refreshments. Please don't share drinks with anyone.
6-8 minutes before the start of each race, we will meet at the North end of the soccer fields and an official will jog the athletes to the start. The start is about 600 yards from there.
7-This is a real race, but let's not have any real high 5s or hand shaking. Let's be safe.
