Vision
Alumni interacting with the Laurel Highlands Council summer camps, providing institutional memory, mentoring, and other support, as well as participating in social and service functions.
Membership
All camp staff alumni having ever served the Laurel Highlands Council, or its predecessors, and their spouses, are eligible for membership. A small membership fee is collected annually so that the association may be self-supporting. We are a registered 501(c)(3) organization and all donations and membership fees are tax-deductible.
Communications
Association members will be kept informed of summer camp and Alumni news through periodic mailings, electronic newsletters, social media, and website updates.
Organization
The association is directed by a steering committee formed of current and former staff members. Members of the steering committee serve a three-year term, and are replaced by a nomination process at the end of their term. A committee member who becomes inactive is removed from the committee. The committee will meet at least quarterly, but usually on a semi-monthly basis.
Social Occasions
An annual reunion will be held yearly at the end of December in celebration of past, present, and future camp success. Other social occasions may be arranged by institution members.
Service
Service to the council camps will take place twice each year. Projects include camp improvement, refurbishment, and new construction as suggested by the Camp Rangers and the Council Camping Committee.
