CD Four Diamonds Superhero Hustle 5k Fun Run

I am Olivia Acri, a junior at Central Dauphin High School. This year I represent the CDHS Four Diamonds Organization as the Executive Overall student leader. The Four Diamonds Organization aims to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children and their families through superior care, comprehensive support and innovative research. We cover 100% of all medical expenses related to cancer care not covered by insurance for eligible Four Diamonds children and ensure that the family never sees a bill during this hard time. This year, I decided to start a new fundraiser to help expand our community involvement and ensure we reach our fundraising goal of $85,000 for the kids.


Our first annual Superhero 5k Fun Run is going to be held on Saturday, November 9th at CD High School. At 8:15, registration will open for the races. Then at 8:45am, we will kick off the day with a kids hero dash .5k for anyone who is 12 and under. Following this will be the 5k fun run, which will be open to all ages to walk or run in. If a team of 7 or more enters this race, registration will only cost $15/participant or if entered alone, registration will be $20/participant. If you pre-register for the 5k, you will get a free race shirt the day of the event! There will be gift cards and prizes for the best costume and top male/female runners as well as a gift basket and 3 month gym membership for the top fundraiser of the event!! In addition, there will be free refreshments after the race for all participants to enjoy.


Since it is our first time hosting this event, however, I need your help to spread the word and encourage participation, especially among the track and field team! It is a great opportunity for team bonding while also donating to a great cause. It would be great if each sports team could be represented at the race! Also, please pass this along to anyone you know who would be interested in the race (friends, family, etc.) because I am hoping this can become a community wide event.
