Lead The Way 5k

In its fourth year, the Lead the Way 5K will surprise you at every turn. The entire event, from planning to fundraising to volunteering the day of the race is completed by local high school juniors. These students are enrolled in the West Shore Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Junior Leadership program, where they gain real world skills which culminate in this fundraising event for the program. With the guidance of the program mentors, they execute one of the most professional events you’ll attend. You will be greeted by a student, registered by a student, hear announcements from a student, and be guided on the course by students. The mentors will be in the background, but the day is run by the students. We know you’ll be amazed by these young adults.

Not a runner but want to support the students? No problem. The event is friendly for walkers, and we offer a one mile option in addition to the 5K. We hope to see you there!
