Description

There will be heats starting at 7:30 am. There will be a rolling schedule, when one heat is completely done with the swim there will be time to do a warmup and we will start the next heat.

500 Yard Swim: Lanes will be set up in the deep end of the Wave Pool. It's 50 yards wide so participants will go down and back 5 times to complete the 500 yard swim.

Transition: Once exiting the water, participants will put on their running shoes (and any other attire they would like, glasses, hats/bands), and head out of the wave pool, through the parking lot and into Settlers Cabin Park. Racers will be timed from the start of the swim until they finish the run so any time spent in transition will count towards your race time - Get out of transition as fast as possible.

Raceday Gear: Some people have asked about the swim into the run and what they should wear. We recommend and expect most participants to wear a Tri Suit. If you google or search amazon for Mens or Womens Tri Suit you will see what these are. They are designed for athletes to be able to swim in, bike in, and then run in without needing to get changed. We will not be biking but these are still the best bet for this type of event. The bathrooms/changing rooms at the wave pool will be open and available for use so you can definitely change prior to the run, but please note that time spent in transition goes towards your overall time.

5k Run: Once runners enter Settlers Cabin Park they will be on a mix of the park roads and some of the more well established trails. This will be a rolling hills type of a run.

Individuals or teams: You can sign up for individual or a 2 member relay team with one member doing the swim and one member doing the 5k run.

Please consider giving a donation that will go a long way in supporting a local non-profit 501c3 organization right here in our back yard.
