Description
A Race 125 Years In The Making...The Borough of Throop is celebrating its Quasquicentennial this year (1894-2019) and the festivities will start off with a bang! Literally!
A 5k Run/Walk kicks off the two day event on Saturday June 29, 2019 at 11:00 am beginning at the Throop Community Civic Center and covering streets in the borough where the finish line is located inside the Washington Street Park.
There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for the following age group runners, U19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+.
The race winners won’t just receive an ordinary medal, they will take home a one of a kind replica of Throop Borough’s Mining History.
This race will be timed by and managed by Scranton Running Company
T-shirts are limited to the first 125 pre-registered runners and first 125 pre=registered walkers.
Packet pickup will be held for all pre-registered participants at the Throop Civic Center on Friday, June 28, 2019 from 12 to 7 PM.
Packet pickup on race day will be from 9 to 10:45 AM at the Throop Civic Center.
