Live the good life with us at the annual Parrot Head Run at Good Night John Boy! This Jimmy Buffett-inspired 5K and 1 Mile event runs along the water through the scenic Flats East Bank.
All participants receive festive perks like a custom shirt, finisher medal, drink and much more - all while supporting Fostering Hope.
It's 5 O'Clock somewhere...and that somewhere is the Parrot Head Run!
Race proceeds benefit local children's charity Fostering Hope! Connecting and enriching youth who live in residential treatment and foster care with unique experiences of hope and healing.
You can pick up your packet (race bib and swag) at one of our two early packet pickups or on race day morning.

Race day packet pickup begins at 8:30am!
Parking is available in and around the East Bank of the Flats. There is limited street parking and several pay lots in the Flats, along with West 9th St.
- Registration and Packet Pick-Up: 8:30am
- 5K & 1 Mile: 10:00am
- After Party: 10:30am
The race begins outside of Good Night John Boy, near ESPN Cleveland. Look for the bright colored flags!
Dogs and double strollers will not be allowed at the race.
The race is officially timed using disposable Bib tag timing system with state-of-the-art Mylaps timing mats.
- All registered participants will receive a race bib number with a timing tag stuck to the back. Please do not alter the bib in any way.
- The race bib must be visible and worn on the front, outermost layer of clothing the entire race. BibTag Timing chips will be adhered in any way.
- Bib numbers and tags are non-transferrable and must be worn by the registrants whom they have been assigned.
Results are posted LIVE on the Parrot Head Run Website. Scannable QR codes are displayed all around the finish line area for quick access with your phone!
Contact roadracing@hermescleveland.com after results are officially posted. If you did not wear a bib during the race, you will not receive a result.
Yes! Awards will be announced around 11am on race day. All winners receive a custom race award. The overall male and female race winners will receive a special award as well.
- Top Male and Female overall
- Top 3 Male and Female in the following age groups
- 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over
- There will also be awards for the Best Parrot Head attire.
You can pick up your award at the Hermes Office (2425 West 11th St. Cleveland, OH). Call or email us before you plan to stop out.
You can also have it sent to your next Hermes race (email roadracing@hermescleveland.ccom).
There is no mailing of awards - Awars can be claimed for up to 30 days after the race.
Yes! Pick up at our office the following week or at packet pickup (call 216-623-9933 before coming in). We do not mail packets after the evnt.
Walking is welcome, but police may ask late walkers to move to the sidewalk after 11am (1 hour after the start). Walkers must line up at the back if the race start line.
Ohio weather is unpredictable! Be prepared for a warm run.

Yes, this race is offering up to a $30 refund on your registration just by referring your friends to participate.
- After you register, you will receive a custom referral rewards link in your email. This should be shared with friends on social media, email or text.
- For every 3 participants to register using your personalized shareable referral code, you will receive $10 back on your original form of payment - maximum 9 referrals! This is automatic and nothing else needs to be done on the participants end to receive a refund.

Do I have to run, or can I walk?

Walking is welcome, but police may ask late walkers to move to the sidewalk after 11am (1 hour after the Start).
