Racer Information
Arrival
The starting point of both the 5k and 1 mile run/walk is at Bala Cynwyd Park, by the playground and baseball field. There is a parking lot as well as street parking. The race begins at 9am, so please arrive by 8:30am to park, check-in, get your race bib and t-shirt, and stretch.
Check in
When you arrive, please find the table next to the starting line. There, a volunteer will take your name to check-in for the race and you will receive your race bib and t-shirt.
Courses
Both courses (the 5k and the 1 miler) start at the same spot, but go in different directions. Those taking part in the 1-mile fun run/walk will go left towards the train station for half a mile, then turn around and come back.
Those taking part in the 5k run/walk will go to the right, follow the trail all the way to the CVS*, then turn around. They will then pass the Bala Cynwyd Park entrance to go halfway towards the station, turn around, and come back to the finish line to be congratulated by a P&A dog or two.
All turning points will have a dog and a volunteer to direct you, so no need to memorize the route!
*At the CVS turnaround there will be a bin to put any shredded layers you’d like to deposit. This box will be brought back to the finish line and you can retrieve your belongings at the registration table.
Winners and Prizes
The top male, female, and child in the 5k and the racer who brings in the most donations for our pups will each win a $25 gift card to Bryn Mawr Running Company!

- Raise $100: Get a free entry (includes t-shirt and a 5k or 1-mile run/walk entry)

- Raise $1,000: Get a free entry and a "Community K-9" 1-hour interactive presentation about service dogs for a group of up to 25 students/guests at your school, work or other org!
- Raise $2,500: Get a free entry and get to be a "trainer for a day" at Paws and Affection HQ!
