What is the Virtual Pedal with Purpose 60+ Mile Challenge?
It’s a fun event the whole family can join in by committing to bike, walk, or run 60+ miles during the month of May. Registration is $25 and includes an event t-shirt. Learn more HERE.
Where does the money raised go?
100% of the net proceeds raised through Pedal with Purpose go to fund the work of Faith in Action of the Greater Kanawha Valley, Inc. (FIAGKV), a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit based in Charleston, West Virginia. To learn more about our organization, click HERE.
Why 60+ miles?
FIAGKV serves seniors ages 60 and older. We opted for a 60+ mile challenge in their honor.
How do I participate in the Virtual Pedal with Purpose 60+ Mile Challenge?
It's so easy! When you get active during the month of May - whether you're riding your bike, walking your dog or even mowing the grass - use your choice of fitness tracker to measure your daily distance. Then, log on to your race page, click the Results tab, and enter your miles. For a step-by-step tutorial, click HERE.
Can kids participate?
Of course! And their registration is FREE (fee is removed at checkout)! T-shirts are only provided for paid registrants (14 and up).
What happens if I don’t register for the event by May 1st?
We've got you covered. You can register right up until May 31st and enter your miles for the whole month. Of course, if you register by April 17th, you'll be guaranteed an event t-shirt by May 1! So what are you waiting for?
Important dates:
Registration opens: March 1, 2023
T-shirt deadline: April 17, 2023*
*Registrations received after April 17th will receive their t-shirts after the event concludes in May.
Challenge starts: May 1, 2023
Registration kick-off: April 30, 2023, 1-3pm | Faith in Action Office

What swag will I receive by participating in this challenge?
All paid registrants (14 & up) will receive an event t-shirt
Registrants who opt to pick up their registration packets at our contact-less event will receive a Swag Bag of goodies supplied by event sponsors
All participants will receive a virtual badge for completion of distance milestones (miles 5, 15, 30, 45, and 60)
All participants who complete the challenge will receive an event sticker
Fundraising incentives for reaching $100 (portable, reusable straw) and $250 (Faith in Action hat) milestones
Prizes and trophies awarded to Top Fundraisers – Individual and Team
Log more than 60 miles and raise at least $100 to be entered to win a special prize package.
