We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for spinal muscular atrophy. We’re hosting our first-ever walk this year, but we are going to need your help.
Our founder, Alyssa, was diagnosed with SMA type 1 when she was just five months old. At the time of her diagnosis, little was known about this disease, and she was given less than two years to live. This October, she is turning 30.
This virtual fundraiser is not only a celebration, but a movement to celebrate more 30th birthdays. By raising funds that will support research efforts for this disease, we want to create a future where SMA won’t have the upper hand. A future where no SMA diagnosis is grim. A future where turning 30 is guaranteed and not subjected to the ruthlessness of this disease.
Because SMA is a progressive illness, we are in a race against the clock. And, we are determined to win.
With all the uncertainties that exist with COVID-19, we are still committed to helping fund spinal muscular atrophy research efforts in a safe and FUN way. SMA doesn’t take a break, and neither will we. That’s why we’re hosting a virtual walk that can happen anywhere around the world at a time that’s most convenient for YOU.
Walk it. Run it. Roll it. There are no rules for having fun and supporting a good cause around here. Here’s how it works:
