RUN DAYTONA 15K - 10K - 5K Racing Weekend

Sat September 14 - Sun September 15, 2024 Daytona Beach, FL 32114 US Directions

Team Competition

Run Daytona will be including a team competition for this year's events.  There are multiple categories that each team can compete in.  Whether your team is small and fast, large, spirited or just wants to help out.  With five categories of the competition there is a chance your team to show what they can do.  Descriptions of each category are listed below.

Fastest Team Award

Do you have a fast group of friends?  Think you can beat the other runners?  Then this competition might be right for you.  This award goes to the team with the 5 fastest overall finishers in each event.  The team must have at least 5 finishers in each of the three events.  Scoring is done by overall placement and the team with the lowest combined score for all three events will win the Fastest Team Award.  The fastest overall team will receive a plaque for the team to take home with them after the event.

Most Spirited Team Award

How's your team spirit?  Do you love to dress up in costumes?  Cheer each other on?  Maybe your team has a chance for this award.  This award will go to the team showing the most spirit throughout the three events.  This award will be decided by a panel of 5 secret judges watching the teams throughout the weekend.  Team spirit can be shown through wearing costumes, signs, having the most spectators, best cheering crowds, overall good will and setting an example for the other runners.

Most Supportive Team Award

Not really into running but like to come and lend a helping hand?  We need all the volunteer help we can get and this can be a great way for your team to earn funds for the charity of your choice.  This award will go to the team that brings out the most volunteers to help during the race.  If you have friends, family, groups that need to raise funds then you can volunteer to help at water stops, as course pointers, passing out water at the finish line, helping at packet pickup.  The team with the most volunteers supporting throughout the three races will receive a minimum donation of $250 from The Running Elements Foundation to go to the local non-profit of their choice.

Largest Team Award

Does your team straight up have the numbers?  Are you ready to swamp us with all your friends running this weekend? This award will go to the team that has the MOST registered participants. Each entry into the 5k or 10k or 15k counts as a point for the team. Therefore someone entered in the Triple Dare gets 3 points, for registering for 3 distances. Kids Dash does not count towards this team award.

Overall Team Trophy

Want to try for our peak team award?  Want to have your team memorialized on the Team Trophy that will be on display inside of The Running Elements all year.  The winning team will have their name engraved on the trophy and the team will receive a plaque to keep.  The overall team award will go to the most well rounded team that competes in all three events.  Teams will be scored based on the top 15 finishes of each team based on Age Groups.  The team must have at least 15 finishers in each of the three events.  Points will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each of the age groups and totaled up for that team, for that event.  Total scores will be added for each of the events and the combined score will decide the overall team winner.  So a 1st place finish in the 75-79 age group will have the same weight as a first place finish in the 30-34 age group.  This encourages runners of all ages to come out and support their team and awards the team with the best balance of runners across all age groups.  The team winning this award will have bragging rights for the year and be encouraged to come back to defend their trophy the next year.  Returning members of that team will receive an additional discount to register for the next year.
