The Red White and Blue Shoes 5K is fast approaching. Thanks for signing up! Please take a few minutes to read through these important announcements to avoid confusion on race day.
PARKING
A nice thing about First Baptist Simpsonville is that they have lots and lots of parking. You will find parking all over the place (on both sides of East Curtis Street) near the main church building.
PACKET PICK UP
There is no Friday packet pick up, only Race Day packet pick up. The packet pick up tables located on Church Street next to the Activities Building will open at 6:15am sharp. WE'RE EXPECTING 600 RUNNERS, SO COME EARLY TO AVOID THE LAST MINUTE CRUNCH!
SHIRTS
If you signed up with the No Shirt Option, your bib will be marked with the letter "N". If you signed up with the regular option, your bib will not be marked. Participants with unmarked bibs will receive shirts at the SHIRT TABLE according to the size they signed up for. Sorry, we can't switch your shirt size at the SHIRT TABLE.
PORTABLE TOILETS
The portable toilets are located behind the one-story stone house in the church parking lot on Curtis Street ACROSS the street from the church.
5K RACE
The 5K race will start at 8:00am on Church Street near the College Street intersection. To keep from blocking the intersection, WE WILL LINE EVERYONE UP ON COLLEGE STREET BETWEEN CHURCH STREET AND ACADEMY STREET STARTING AROUND 7:50AM. The race course is extremely well marked with white tape and yard signs, but please, please, please take a minute to look at the online map here:

KIDS RUN
The free Kids Run will take place around 9am, or a little later if the race starts late. The Kids Run course will consist of a loop around the KIDS Building situated across the street from the Activities Building. The Kids Run will start and finish at the 5K finish line on Church Street. We will have an adult leading the kids on the run. Each Kids Run participant will receive a medal!
LOST AND FOUND
If you find any lost items, please bring them to the DJ tent at the finish line so we can make an announcement. If you lose a child, please come to the DJ tent and we will put out an APB.
POST RACE ACTIVITIES
We will have water and snacks after the race. We will have just a few games set up, but nothing like you're use to seeing at RWBS. Sorry, no pie eating this year, but we promise to bring it back next year at Furman.
AWARDS
We will not have a formal awards ceremony. Live results will be available so you can see your time and view the preliminary standings. We will post the comprehensive PRELIMINARY Age Group and CS awards on the RunSignUp race page later in the day. The FINAL Age Group and CS awards will be posted after a thorough check is done, usually a couple of days after the race. Top Tier, Age Group and CS awards will consist of race discounts for future GTC events, and these will be emailed to winners in the week following the race.
