Get ready to lace up your sneakers and make a difference at the annual Red Shoe 5k Run & Walk! Now in its 15th year, we’re thrilled to be back at National Harbor, bringing together runners, walkers, and supporters for a fun, impactful day.
Ronald McDonald Charities of Greater Washington, DC (RMHCDC) provides a comforting home away from home for families with seriously ill or injured children, offering them a place to stay, warm meals, kid-friendly activities, and compassionate support while their child receives medical care.
Every step you take helps provide these essential resources to families. Join us at National Harbor and be part of something big—because together, we keep families close when they need it most.

Course Maps
Red Shoe 5k Run & Walk: The race takes participants on a scenic course along Harbor Trail, featuring and mix of terrain, including some gravel surfaces and a slight incline.

Kids Fun Run: The race is paved, leading to the finish line.
Timing
Timing services will be provided. Disposable chips will be attached to the back of all 5k race bibs.
Weather, Water/Aid Stations, and Restrooms
- The race will take place rain or shine. No matter the weather, we’re committed to making it a fun and memorable day for everyone!
- We will have plenty of water available for all participants. Water stations will be located at the Start/Finish line.
- Public restrooms are available at National Harbor. The closest restroom is located near The Plaza.
Parking
Parking garage fees are not included with registration.
The closest National Harbor parking garages to the event site are the:
- Mariner Garage (located at Waterfront St & Mariner Passage)
- Fleet Garage (located at Waterfront St & Potomac Passage)
Fees range from $5 (1.5 hrs) to $20 (3.5 - 4 hrs) up to $25 for 24 hrs.
