When you and your family spend a few hours on Daufuskie Island, it's like time travel. You'll see nature in its most pristine, beautiful form, and watch countless dolphins swimming alongside your ferry boat as you make your way to this magical island of Daufuskie.

Your day starts with a scenic water taxi ride from Hilton Head to Daufuskie Island—keep an eye out for dolphins as you glide through Lowcountry waters rich with natural beauty. Once you arrive at Freeport Marina, take a breath, settle in, and get ready for a 5K that winds through the wild, quiet heart of Daufuskie.
After the run, stay awhile at the Old Daufuskie Crab Co. for live music, ice-cold drinks, and some of the best seafood in the Lowcountry. When you’re ready, we’ll carry you back to Hilton Head by water—easy, peaceful, and full of views.

IMPORTANT RACE NOTES
- T-Shirts - You must register before March 25 to be guaranteed a t-shirt.
- Changing Facilities / Restrooms - you will have access to the facilities at Broad Creek Marina and the Old Daufuskie Crab Co. to change clothes and use the toilets.
- Bag drop - we will have a bag drop near the start / finish (please do not leave valuables in your bag!!)
GETTING TO DAUFUSKIE ISLAND
We highly recommend you book the event W/ WATER TAXI. There is limited dock space at Freeport Marina and docking spaces are FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVE - plus there is a docking fee charged per boat. If you opt for your own transportation to Daufuskie Island, we can't guarantee a space for your boat and we no refund is available.
WATER TAXI
Island Head is operating the Water Taxi that will transport participants between the 2 Islands. The Water Taxi takes 45min to travel between the 2 Islands.
Water Taxi - HHI - Departure / Arrival location - Broad Creek Marina (HHI)
** Parking - Once you arrive in the general parking area for Broad Creek Marina (to the right of the dry boat storage), head towards Broad Creek (the water and docks) - a staff member will meet you and check you in.
Water Taxi - DI - Departure / Arrival location - Freeport Marina (DI)
The Water Taxi takes 45min to travel between islands

Wanna bring a friend (Non-racer)?
We have included the option to purchase a Water Taxi for your NON-RACER during the race registration process. During your registration, you will have the option to purchase water taxi ticket(s) for a friend/family member.
INCLEMENT WEATHER PLAN
The safety of our participants, volunteers, and staff is our paramount concern - and, this concern shapes our decisions regarding inclement weather. Any decisions regarding the weather will be made the morning the event. We plan on producing a great event and we will be at the race site ready to do so. Should the weather pose any threat to safety - we will postpone the start of the event until the weather clears. If the weather does not cooperate after a reasonable amount of time, we will make the decision to cancel the event. Any decision regarding rescheduling the event or entry credit to another event will be made as quickly as possible and be communicated via email to all participants.
