Packet Pick Up

We have rented the Sirrine Room in the lobby area at the Courtyard Hotel, which is located near the starting area. The room will be used for race day packet pick up (6:30 AM – 7:40 AM). Local runners are encouraged to do their packet pick up Friday afternoon (at Fleet Feet, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM).

There is a parking garage right next to the Courtyard Hotel. Other parking options are listed in a section below

Weather

Looks like the forecast calls for a refreshing 38 degrees with a chance of occasional light precipitation. Perhaps it will be an equal, or even greater adventure compared to last year’s race held in 18 degree weather.  

Before the race, participants are welcome to quietly warm up in the lobby at the Courtyard. The AC Hotel lobby is also a quiet option. Another option is to lounge out under one of the many building overhangs near the start line, such as the one included in this section. 

In any case, once we’re off to the races and running the race, weather concerns tend to melt away, right? And at that point it becomes an adventure.

Left on S. Main St. and proceed to the finish line, which is near the starting line. 

Groups will be based on your estimated 5k time. The purpose of the group starts is a) to relieve congestion in the early minute or two of the race, and b) to give runners an environment to compete with others having similar speeds. And who knows, you may find yourself in a faster group after you get going !

Featured: 50 West Broad Street - right next to the Courtyard Hotel, where we are renting space in their lobby area for race day packet pick up. Runners are welcome to warm up in their lobby before the race but please be quiet since many hotel guests will still be sleeping.

Q. Are dogs allowed?

A. Unfortunately, our insurance coverage does not allow for this. 

Q. Are strollers allowed?

A. For safety reasons, including safety of the child, strollers are discouraged. 

Q. Is it okay if I just walk the route? 

A. Yes, and you would want to start in the back for safety reasons. Please keep in mind that all participants should plan to cross the finish line no later than 9:30 (90 minute allowance). For example, a 28 minute pace walker would be fine (28 minutes x 3.11 miles = 87.1 minutes). 

Q. How is the race timed?

A. Chip timing mats will be used at the start and finish.

Q. Are awards based on chip time or gun time?

A. All awards, including overall awards, are based on chip time.

Q. Are refunds permitted?
