Description
Hill Seeker Challenge 2024
Starting in January, we will have a series of hill climbing rides to build strength, endurance, and team camaraderie.
Challenge starts Jan. 1st and goes through April 6th
You can do these rides on your own or with the group before April 6th to qualify for your hoodie.
LINKS to rides will be sent out once you have registered.
The ride time will be determined the week before and based on temperatures, but you can plan on 10AM unless we are having an extreme cold spell.
*Beginners have the option of doing 1/2 of ride #1, #2 and #3 and the AOTC 50K.
Ride Dates are the following:
Jan. 6th - #1 Greenville Watershed/Bakery Ride (35 miles)
Start in Tigerville. No Drop.
*Shorter Course #1 – Part of Watershed (22 miles) Out and Back
Starts in Tigerville.
Jan. 20th - #2 Hogback Mtn. (30ish miles)
Start at Landrum Ingles, No Drop
*Shorter Course #2 – Part of Hogback/Shorter overall ride
Starts at Landrum Ingles
Jan. 27th - #3 Saluda Grade to Fork Creek loop (30ish miles) - option to ride more.
Option 1 with just the climbing is 21 miles
Option 2 is an out and back on Skyuka Rd - rolling hills. for 30 miles
Option 3 is a loop around Lake Lanier for 39 miles

*Shorter/Easier Course #3 (20 miles)

Feb. 10th - #4 Green River Cove Climb (42 miles)
Start at Polk County Middle School.
March 2nd - #5 -Entire Watershed Double Bakery Ride (46 miles).
Start at Tigerville.
March 16- #6 - Watershed & Cabin Creek Climb 45 miles)
Start at Tigerville.
March 23rd - #7 - Saluda Grade & Mt. Olivet (55 miles)
Start at Harmon Field.
April 6th - #8 Assault on the Carolinas 50K & 100K - Caesar’s Head Climb!

For anyone currently being coached who completes all eight climbs/rides, you will get a Hill Seeker Hoodie! If you are not a current Malone Coaching athlete, please feel free to join us for a small fee (basically to cover the cost of the hoodie and shipping)/
For those doing the shorter challenge of four climbs/rides, you, too, will be eligible for the hoodie!
Must have GPS proof downloaded to Training Peaks, or Garmin, Strava or Ridewgps and post at least 1 picture from the top of each climb, tag
