Welcome to the 1st Annual Speak Up; Reach Out 5K Run/Walk sponsored by The Jeff Yalden Foundation, Inc. – Mental Health Awareness & Suicide Prevention
Date: December 8, 2018
Time: 5k 8:00 am and 1 Mile 9:00 am
Location: Grand Park-Market Common, Myrtle Beach

The Jeff Yalden Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization advocating and serving Mental Health Awareness & Suicide Prevention Training and Crisis Intervention. Jeff Yalden makes his home here in Myrtle Beach and after a couple of teen suicides last year and calls for help, Jeff, an expert consultant in the area of technology and how it relates to our mental health working with teens, educators, mental health professionals, and school communities, decided to bring his work into our community to serve our local school communities who are very much in need.
All proceeds will support Jeff working with our local school communities providing suicide prevention training to Teachers, Staff, Administration, and Counselors. Also speaking to teens and families about mental health and suicide prevention.

Packet Pickup and Late Registrations:
- Friday, December 7, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Black Dog Running Company (1600 Farrow Parkway, Myrtle Beach)
- Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 6:30 am – 7:45 am at the event site – Grand Park-Market Commons, Myrtle Beach
- Saturday, 1 Mile Fun Run Pickup from 6:30 am - 8:45 am at the event site
Race Event Details:
- 5k race begins at 8:00 am
- 1 Mile Fun Run begins at 9:00 am
- Virtual 5k t-shirts and medals will be mailed within 2 weeks post race
- Recognition of Volunteers & Sponsors 9:15 am
- Awards begin approximately 9:30 am
- USATF Certified 5K Course - Course Map coming soon
- Finisher medals for all race participants
- T-shirts guaranteed to those registered by November 22nd
- Please come and walk in honor of someone or in support of Mental Health Awareness
- Live Music and Raffles
Parking:
Plenty of parking available and the event will be well marked.

- Awards for overall male/female 1st-3rd place
- Awards for overall masters male/female 1st place
- Age group awards for male/female 1st-3rd place in each category (5 year increments after age 10)
