Portable Toilets: Plenty of portable toilets are available at the expo. Half Turkey runners will also find portable toilets along the course at approximately miles 6.2 and 10.3.
Course Surface: 1.5 miles total of the 13.1 on crushed gravel and the remainder is on concrete. These concrete and gravel trails are at least 8 feet wide.
Free GPS Tracking: Friends near and far can send FREE cheers and track your progress when you use the RaceJoy App - INCLUDED with your registration!
Water: Half Turkey runners will encounter five water stations, near miles 3, 5, 7, 9.5 and 11.5. Gatorade Lime will also be available at the final four stations.
Course Cut Off: Runners must be off the course by 11:40 AM. There is no early start option for this event. All runners must start at their scheduled start times.
Dogs, Strollers, Skateboards: Your well behaved, leashed dogs and well-behaved children in strollers are welcome on this course. Slower runners should always stay to the right, faster runners should pass on the left. If you ride your skateboard during the event, we will cheer for you, but also disqualify you. The same is true should you decide to ride down a hill INSIDE your stroller.
Snow: We will run, even in snow. Plan accordingly. Wear layers, bring dry shoes for after the race, run more carefully on slippery surfaces....If the Parks Department restricts use of the park or the Police Department restricts use of roadways for commuting to the event because of some "snowpocalypse", then watch here for updates and check your email.
Start/Finish Description: This race has 2 starting areas and 2 finish areas for multiple distances running throughout the day. Listen for your group to be announced and directed to your start line.
HALF TURKEYS - start from the north end of the expo area and run up and out the soccer fields, connecting with the end of the 10k course. You'll loop through the 10k start line and the finish line (approx .4 mile in to your race) and then continue along the 10k route until the back side of the hill around mile 5 where you'll turn east (left) and run under Virgil Way on the Ralston Creek Trail along the golf course. Run east to about mile 8.3 where you'll turn around and come back west on the same route. When you run back under Virgil Way and connect with the 10k course, you'll be at about mile 11.5. Finish the race by running through, up, around the hay bale challenge and the fill your pie hole station on your way to the finish line where your commemorative mug will be waiting!
