Description: This is the 1st Event of the 2026 Healthy Blount Triple Crown of Running.   2nd Event - Scholars Run, July 25, 2026.  3rd Event - Reindeer Run, December 6, 2026. Those participating in ALL THREE TRADITIONAL events will be eligible for Triple Crown cash awards, door prizes, and a special memento. If you are unable to participate in ALL THREE events, you still have a chance at winning the great Triple Crown door prizes worth a minimum of $50 each if you participate in the Reindeer Run and at least one of the other two Triple Crown events. You are eligible whether you participate in the 5K Run or the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk.

A portion of the race proceeds this year goes to Blount County's Special Olympics program and to the Leon Berrong Scholarship Fund that helps underprivileged kids participate in recreational programs!

CHECK-IN: 7:15 - 8:00 a.m. the day of the race.

RACE TIME: 8:30 a.m. – 5K Run
9:15 a.m. – 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk

Pre Race Package Pickup and Registration: Thursday, April 16, 5 to 7 pm  Dick's Sporting Goods in Hamilton Crossing, 221 Hamilton Crossing Drive Alcoa, TN 37701 or pick up can be done on race day.

T-SHIRTS: All runners will receive a quality, 65/35 cotton/poly blend T-shirt. Shirts will be available on the day of the race for day-of-race entries as long as supplies last. Those who do not get their packets on race day may pick them up at the Parks & Rec. office approximately up to 2 weeks after the race. Participants who choose the Sleeping But Supporting option may pick up their shirts at the Parks & Rec office during this time frame also.


AWARDS/PRIZES: Awards and prizes will be given out on-site at the event.  Award winners can view results after the race at https://totalracesolutions.com/event-results/ and awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age group. All Fun Run/Walk participants will receive a ribbon. Race participants will be eligible for nice door prize drawings and winners will be randomly drawn from a generated race list.  AGE DIVISIONS: Male: 8 and under, 9-11, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over     Female: 8 and under, 9-11, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over    Overall: Male and Female    Masters: Male and Female (40 and older)


GENERAL INFORMATION: No baby strollers, bicycles, roller blades or dogs are allowed to be used by any participant during the race. The use of headsets is not recommended due to traffic on race route.


Refreshments:  Refreshments will be on-site after the race for race participants.

65/35 Soft Blend Shirt

Our Give Away Shirt will be a 65/35 Soft Blend for adults and 50/50 cotton for youth.

Referral Rewards

Participants will be assigned a unique personal url when they register. The participant can encourage their friends to use this url when they register for this event. The system will maintain a count of the number of registrations for each url. When five participants have registered using a participant's personal url, the participant with that url will receive a one time retroactive refund of $5 to the credit card that they used for registration.

Utilizing the RaceJoy Application for the Virtual Event

RaceJoy utilization is included as part of the registration fee. The RaceJoy application utilizes your smart phone's GPS capability to record distance and time. Instructions for RaceJoy utilization for virtual events are as follows:

Get the App: Download RaceJoy from the App Store or Google Play.
Find Race: Click Featured Races to access the event you are doing or search by name in the search field.
Set Up Tracking: Click I Want to Be Tracked and follow the prompts carefully. Select the Virtual 5K event.
Enter Your Bib Number for Results: For events offering virtual scored results, enter your bib number provided to you by the race. RaceJoy will then automatically submit your finish data.
When you run or walk your course, open the RaceJoy application and follow the prompts to adjust settings as needed. WiFi must be disabled on your phone.
When you start: Click the green blinking TrackMe button to start the tracking of your phone. Verify that you have selected the Virtual 5K event. Click START MY RACE as you begin your walk/run to start your personal clock. RaceJoy auto detects when you complete the course distance. No need to click Finish.
Race Redo for Virtual Events: You have the option to redo a course multiple times by clicking the redo button. (warning: selecting the redo button will clear previous performance data.)

Participants will be able to post their individual results either using the RaceJoy application or manually beginning at 12:00 AM on April 3, 2026 and ending at 11:59 PM on April 19, 2026.

Manual results may be posted to the RunSignup Virtual Results page as follows:                                                                                                                   

Visit the Spring Sprint Race registration page and confirm that you are logged in
Locate the "Results" tab at the top of the menu
Click the "Submit Virtual Results" button
Search for your registration either by first and last name or by email address and date of birth 
Once you have found your registration, select "Submit Virtual Results" and enter your finish time

Utilizing the RaceJoy Application for the 5K Open Event

Get the App: Download RaceJoy from the App Store or Google Play.
Find Race: Click Featured Races to access the event you are doing or search by name in the search field.
Set Up Tracking: Click I Want to Be Tracked and follow the prompts carefully. Select the 5K Open Course.

When you run or walk the 5K Open event, open the RaceJoy application and follow the prompts to adjust settings as needed. WiFi must be disabled on your phone.
When you start: confirm that you are set up for the 5K Open Course.  Make sure to click the green blinking TrackMe button to start the tracking of your phone. Click START MY RACE as you cross the start line to start your personal clock. RaceJoy auto detects when you complete the course distance. No need to click Finish. The participant will not need to post their RaceJoy time to the RunSignup site. The timing controllers will stream that data to the 5K Open results page on RunSignup. Participants will receive a text  or email message with their official time if they signed up for text and email results.

We furnish the RaceJoy app for the 5K Open to allow the participants to use the app to monitor their distance ran and the time spent as they proceed around the course. The app can also be used by the participant to receive messages from anyone who has set up the app on their phone, The app can also be used by event administrators to transmit emergency messages to participants if needed.
