The Donna Bledsoe 5K is held every year in honor of the late Donna Bledsoe. Donna was a Fairview Native and after graduating college came back to Fairview where she pursued her dream of running, being a teacher, coach for girls basketball and cross country. She was a mentor to so many young people. After losing Donna in a tragic accident, her family decided to give back to the community that she loved so much. Each year at the Fairview High School graduation a female and male athlete will receive an athletic scholarship. The Bledsoe family spent endless hours at Bowie Nature Park, 700 acres of beautiful wildlife, ponds, lakes, trails and so much more. The proceeds from this 5K all go towards the 2 scholarships given out in memory of Coach Donna.
