Description

The only THANKSGIVING DAY 5K in Blount County, November 26, 2020. This race will start and finish at Coulter Grove Intermediate School. Funding from this race will assist in providing aquatics programs such as child-focused water safety, adult and child swim lessons, competitive swimming and practice time for local schools' swim teams. The 2020 Goggled Gobbler 5k title sponsor is The Shanks Companies: Integrity Through Unparalleled Experience.

COURSE: Please click on "MORE" in menu tab to see pictures of festive and fun Goggled Gobbler 5k. These pictures are from the Alcoa course. The course will be in Maryville for 2020. Corral/wave start to minimize crowding at starting line.

RACE TIME: Thursday, November 26, 2020 - 5k starts at 8:30am

PRE RACE PACKET PICKUP: Wednesday, November 25, 4:00-7:00pm at Coulter Grove Intermediate School, 2025 Sevierville Rd, Maryville, TN 37804. Please bring photo identification to receive packet. If you are coming from out-of-town and need another person to pick up packet, please email stacycmead@gmail.com your name and person picking up packet by 11/22, title your email "Packet Pick Up Substitute." Packets will be available for pick up race day from 7:00-8:00am.

T-SHIRTS: High quality, short-sleeve shirts guaranteed to registrations before November 18, 2020, after this date only while supplies last.

AWARDS: Top 3 male and female finishers and top 3 male/female finishers.

RESULTS: Timing services are provided by Race Day Events. Results will be available at Race Day Events and RunSignUp.com. To see 2019 race results, select "RESULTS" in menu tab above picture.

SAFETY AND ETIQUETTE:

On matters of public health and safety, we will abide by our local public health guideline and Governor Bill Lee's Tennessee Pledge: https://www.tn.gov/governor/covid-19/economic-recovery/tennessee-pledge.html
Pending on the guidelines provided in early November, we may have to limit runner capacity. We will provide an updates on this site, a well as keep all registrants informed.
We will implement wave/corral groups at the start. These wave groupings, based upon TN Pledge guidelines will minimize large groups at starting line.
We recommend all runners arrive with masks on and remove them, if necessary, after crossing the starting line. All race volunteers will have masks on at all times.
Post and prerace snacks will not be provided this year. We advise runners to bring their own hydration. Limited water will be provided at end of race.
All spectators are expected to abide by CDC and Tennessee Pledge guidelines.
Headphones and baby strollers are discouraged. Bicycles, roller blades, and pets are prohibited.
