Join us this Thanksgiving for the Inaugural Turkey Trot for A-Rare-Ness: MPS1 in beautiful Roane County, Tennessee! This family-friendly event is more than just a run—it's an opportunity to come together as a community and support The Kennedy Ladd Foundation in their tireless fight to cure MPS1.

What to Expect:
5K Run/Walk: Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a leisurely stroll, this 5K is perfect for all ages and fitness levels.
Family Fun: Bring the whole family for a morning of fun! We'll have activities for kids, including a mini-trot, face painting, and more.

Festive Atmosphere: Embrace the holiday spirit with Thanksgiving-themed costumes and enjoy music, refreshments, and a warm community vibe.
Prizes and Awards: Compete for fun awards in various categories, including best costume, fastest runner, and largest team.

Early Bird: $25 (ends 09/30)
Regular: $35 (10/1-11/28)
For Fun: $20 (not-timed)
All proceeds go directly to The Kennedy Ladd Foundation's mission to cure MPS1. Your participation helps drive critical research and support services for those in need.

Let's Make It a Tradition
The Turkey Trot for a Cure: MPS1 aims to become a beloved Thanksgiving tradition in Roane County that families look forward to year after year. With festive fun, community spirit, and a shared goal of curing MPS1, this event promises to be memorable for participants of all ages. Come out, give thanks, and make strides toward a brighter future together.

T-shirts: Short-sleeved, unisex shirts. Please note our shirt policy: Anyone registering after November 10th will receive shirts while supplies last. The shirt order will be placed on November 11th and when the inventory runs out in the RunSignUp system then there will be no more shirts. No re-orders. 

Awards: 

Overall Male: 1st place,  2nd place,  3rd place

Overall Female: 1st place,  2nd place,  3rd place

Overall Masters Female 40+

Overall Masters Male 40+

Best Dressed: Get creative with feathers, gobble up those vibrant colors, and flaunt your festive flair!

Not only will you add a touch of fun to the event, but you'll also be in the running for the "Best Dressed Turkey" award! Imagine the glory of being crowned the most stylish bird in town. So don your feathers, polish those beaks, and join us for a clucking good time! Let's gobble up the excitement together!

Awards will be presented beginning at 9:45.

Refreshments: Light refreshments will be provided post race.  

Race Etiquette: Due to insurance regulations, rollerblades, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the 5K course. Walkers are welcome! The 5K course closes in 1 hour, 30 minutes.
