Description
In support of MDA's "Make a Muscle. Make a Difference." we are putting together a Virtual 5K Race. The 2014 Make A Muscle Mini-Marathon!!
My son, Amadeo Andrade, was diagnosed with Becker Muscular Dystrophy at the age of 5. Since then we have been working with MDA in Austin every year to raise money and awareness for all those living with Muscular Dystrophy. We specifically raise money for the annual MDA Muscle Walk. Last year we raised over $38,000 for Amadeo's Army (2nd highest team in the Nation)! This year our goal is $40,000 and this event along with your help will get us closer to achieving it!
Please join us in this cause. We want to Make A Muscle by running or walking 5K in support of those who may not be able to. You say you don't run? That's ok. You can walk! You think 3.1 miles might be too much? That's ok too! You can break it up into smaller segments so that you can participate!
You can participate anywhere you like...on a treadmill, in your neighborhood, at a local park or track, at the mall, or anywhere you can walk or run! Once you register, you'll have until March 1st to complete the 5K. You can race for completion or for your very best time. The choice is up to you.
Every registered participant will receive an Amadeo's Army Race Medal for helping to support MDA! We also welcome donation by way of the "Donate Tab" and we also have tshirts available in the "Store Tab".
100% of the money raised here goes directly to MDA to fund critical research on neuromuscular diseases, fund support and services for MDA families, and send kids, like Amadeo, to Summer Camp.
Help us make a difference!!
