Description

3rd Annual Arlington, Texas Domestic Violence Awareness Walk/Run-a-thon

There is an epidemic that is sweeping our nation known as Domestic Violence.  This epidemic affects the lives of thousands of victims, survivors, their families, even affecting those who are called to serve and protect victims of violence.  Domestic Violence is defined as a pattern of behavior in any relationship that is used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner.

The impact of domestic violence is felt not only by the women, men and children involved, but by our community as a whole.

We are having are 3rd Annual Walk/Run-a-thon To End Domestic Violence in Arlington, Texas!  The “Walk/Run-a-thon to End Domestic Violence” is designed to raise awareness and funds for partnering organizations to carry out their mission to financially support individuals as they transition from violent situations.

For our third year, we will honoring Patricia L Montgomery-Pulley.

She lost her first husband on February 18, 1986. She found herself lonely and desperate for a partner. During a visit to her sister, Shirley, she met James Massey. This person turned out to be an abusive addict who lured Mom into his selfish world by charming her with lies. His verbal abuse, and threats of killing her if she left turned physical after about a two-year period. She kept the abuse from my brother, Jack, and I. We only found out of this physical abuse because he beat he so badly on January 1, 1994 it forced her to call us for help. She allowed him back into their marriage, and 15 months later James R. Massey turned his threats into reality. He pulled a .22 caliber single action pistol, pointed it at her face, and pulled the trigger. Mom fell dead instantly on the night of April 9, 1995 in her Master Bed..

Online Registration will end Friday Novemeber 13,2015 at 11pm..
