We will have an Open House to the public on Saturday August 03, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. There you are able to tour our station and our brand new 2023 ambulance. We will have free wellness checks and food by donation offered to the community.

We will have our Silent Auction Items available to bid in-person for those who are unable to participate on our Facebook Online Page.

Starting August first, Citizens EMS will have a silent auction available on our Facebook Page. Winners of bid items will start to be announced Saturday August 03, 2024 after 3:00 PM.

**Established in 1976, Citizens EMS celebrates its 47th anniversary!**

Situated just 20 minutes east of Abilene, Texas, Citizens EMS began as a volunteer service, attaining non-profit status in 1998. Evolving into a paid employee ambulance service, we now serve our rural community with dedication. With 8 full-time and several part-time employees, we cover over 700 square miles of Callahan County. Responding to a variety of emergencies from motor vehicle accidents to medical crises, our service extends along Interstate I-20 and multiple state highways.

Beyond emergency response, our commitment to community health and safety is unwavering. Employees volunteer at local events offering wellness checks and health information. Stop the Bleed training equips staff and local school personnel to aid students before EMS arrival. Through collaboration with our RAC, we promote bicycle safety and provide free helmets to children and parents.

As a non-profit, privately owned entity, funding can be challenging. Annual events like our Fun Run and Open House help sustain our service. Proceeds support station maintenance, ambulance upkeep, and equipment acquisition, with any surplus directed toward enhancing employee resources for better community service.

The community's generosity has already made a difference, enabling the purchase of portable radios and contributing to an emergency generator project in partnership with the City of Clyde.
