The Juneteenth Organization, in all 50 states, Celebrates this restoration of human rights and dignity; and Informs on the servitude and suffering which the Emancipation Proclamation sought to end. The 2012 Juneteenth 1 Mile Run/Walk will be held at the JUNETEENTH GALLERY MUSEUM THEATER in Fort Worth on June 16, 2012. This will be part of the 2012 Fort Worth and Tarrant County Juneteenth Celebration. The event is both for cultural purposes and to help raise funds for the Juneteenth Organization student scholarships.

Awards to 1st Overall male and female finishers, 1st Masters male and female finishers in the 5K. Top 3 finishers in the following age/gender groups also will be awarded: 6 & Under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 & Over.

A fun-competitive race in southside Ft Worth. Location is @ E. Rosedale & Evans, near the Juneteenth Museum @ 901 E. Rosedale; 5.4 mls W of 820 or 0.1 ml E of 35W. From I-20, exit on 820 or 35W and go N to Rosedale; from 820 turn W (left) onto Rosedale / from 35W turn E (right) onto Rosedale; continue to Rosedale and Evans. OR From I-30, exit on 820 or 35W and go S to Rosedale; from 820 turn W (right) onto Rosedale / from 35W turn E (left) onto Rosedale; continue to Rosedale and Evans. One also can get directions from the ‘Net, by, for example, going to www.yahoo.com, clicking on “Maps” and then on the “Get Directions” link OR www.MapQuest.com.
