The Spring Thing 5K Run/Walk has been rescheduled and will be held as a virtual event to take place October 4-10 (Mental Illness Awareness Week). Our original plan was to hold the event in October, but with so much uncertainty surrounding the COVID pandemic, we finally determined that holding the event virtually was the safest way to proceed with the event.
Runners/walkers will have from Sunday, October 4th to Saturday, October 10th to complete a 5K run or walk and post a time for the event. You will be able to post your times here, just go to the results tab and add your time. We also encourage you to take photos, and post them on social media using the hashtag #MindsMatter to bring awareness to the topic of mental health.
All those who post their times will receive their finishers shirt via post mail.
If you were previously registered and choose not to run or walk virtually: We will happily transfer your race entry to March, 2021.
If you choose not to run/walk virtually or cannot make the run/walk in March, 2021: You may donate your entry fee to the Volunteer Services Council of the San Antonio State Hospital to help us continue to support patient needs. In exchange for your donation, you will still get your Spring Thing 5K t-shirt. To learn more about the mission of the Volunteer Services Council, visit www.sashvsc.org.
Please email us with your preference on how you wish to proceed with this event. We thank you for your understanding, and for supporting the Volunteer Services Council of the San Antonio State Hospital.
