PLAYER MEDIA DAY (MANDATORY)
Sunday, January 19 | 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (time subject to change) | Alamodome
Family and friends are invited to join their all-stars at Media Day! Players will:
- take their photo headshots for the game program (must bring and wear high school jersey for this, if you have an all-star teammate, please wear the same color jersey)
- be presented with their official player certificates and participate in media interviews for KSAT12. (This will be the only opportunity for media interviews during the All-Star season due to media availability)
- Family and friends will have an exclusive opportunity to purchase limited reserved section tickets that will go on sale this day and an opportunity to purchase before they go on sale to the general public and pre-order merchandise (hats, t-shirts, lettermen patches programs)

Each all-star team will have a assigned time given at a later date for their team photo. Coaches are required for this event as well and we ask players
PRACTICE SCHEDULE
Thursday, March 20 through Friday, March 21 (Saturday, March 22 is an optional practice day at the discretion of each head coach)
Location: Respective All-Star Coaches High School Gym or other reserved site by Head Coach
Tentative Start Time: 5:30 PM due to players being in school*
*Saturday will be at coaches discretion around teams photo time at Northside Sports Gym
GAME DAY (subject to change, all games will be on KSAT and streamed on TSP)

Teams that arrive while game is in progress will wait in locker room. There will also be small reserved section in stands for teams to watch games before their game starts.
Session 1
- 12:10 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. – 1A-5A Girls Game
- 2:15 to 4:00 p.m. – 1A-5A Boys Game
- 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. - Break/Transition Period (Clear Venue for Session 2)
- 4:30 p.m. – Doors open for Session 2

- 4:45 to 4:58 p.m. – Skills Challenge
- 5:00 to 5:25 p.m. – 3-Point Contest
- 6:10 to 7:45 p.m. – 6A Girls Game
- 8:00 to 10:00 p.m.– 6A Boys Game
Description
The San Antonio Sports All-Star Basketball Game, presented by Valero, has served as a celebration of success of boys and girls basketball careers. This new game only in its second year has of more than 120 players from over 60 area high schools will take place Sunday, March 23 at the Northside ISD Sports Gymnasium, located at 8400 N. Loop 1604. It is televised locally on KSAT12. We are excited to official bring on Valero as the title sponsor for this event!
There will be four games total and each session will include a girls’ and boys’ game. The first session tips off from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. while the second session tips off from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. An all-star skills challenge and three-point contest will take place between the afternoon and evening sessions. In total, the game day will showcase 120 top local high school seniors in a competition of Team Blue vs. Team White in two divisions: 1A –5A UIL & TAPPS schools playing in the first session and 6A UIL & 6A TAPPS schools playing in the second session.

TEAM BLUE COACHES
6A UIL/TAPPS Boys Coach - Rudy Bernal, Antonian College Preparatory High School
Bernal is in his 47th year of coaching and has been head coach at Antonian since 2014. His career record is 834-498. As head coach at Lanier High School, his teams won four district championships while making the playoffs 15 times, including two state tournament appearances. At Antonian, his teams have won the TAPPS 6A State Basketball Championship twice. Last season, Antonian advanced to the state semifinals for the fifth time
6A UIL/TAPPS Girls Coach - Jaclyn Contreras, Brennan High School
Contreras is girls head basketball coach at Brennan High School. Under her leadership, the Bears have won three district championships, two of which were undefeated, and have appeared in three regional tournaments, securing one regional championship and a state appearance. Her overall career record is 254-146.
5A -1A UIL/TAPPS Boys Coach - Art Vela, Jefferson High School
Vela has been head boys basketball coach at Jefferson High School since 2015. His teams have made it to the state basketball playoffs 13 of those 15 seasons. He served as head coach at Edison High School from 2009-2015, and his overall record is 303-211.
5A -1A UIL/TAPPS Girls Coach - Annissa Jackson, Wagner High School
Jackson has been head girls basketball coach at Wagner High School since 2018. Prior to that she was assistant and head coach at Stevens High School and Fox Tech High School. Her overall record is 298-160.
TEAM WHITE COACHES
6A UIL/TAPPS Boys Coach - Dakota (Koty) Cowgill, Brennan High School
Cowgill has been head coach of the Brennan boys basketball for nine years. The past three years Brennan has advanced to the regional finals and to the state 6A final in 2023. Prior to leading the boy’s program at Brennan he was the head girl’s coach at the same school for three seasons. In his 12 years as a head coach at Brennan, he has amassed an overall record of 306-109, won six district championships, and made it to the state tournament three times.
6A UIL/TAPPS Girls Coach - Christina Camacho, Judson High School
Camacho is head girls basketball coach at Judson High School. In 37 seasons of coaching, she has an overall record of 790-284. As head coach at Wagner High School, she led the Thunderbirds to the state tournament four times in 11 seasons. At Veterans Memorial High School, her teams went to the state 4A final and two years later, returned as a 5A state semi-finalist.
5A -1A UIL & TAPPS Boys Coach - Andrew Brewer, Alamo Heights High School
Brewer has been the head boys basketball coach at Alamo Heights High School since 2011. Over his thirteen-year tenure, Brewer has guided the Mules to 13 playoff appearances, seven district championships, four trips to the regional tournament, and two state tournament berths.
5A -1A UIL & TAPPS Girls Coach - Amy Ruede, Boerne High School
Ruede is in her 27th year of coaching, 16 as head coach at Boerne High School. Her career record is 379-146. Her teams have eight regional tournament appearances and were state semi-finalists in 2021, 2023 and 2024.
