SMMA Gear Up 10 Mile Run

About This Event:

San Marcos Manufacturer’s Association (SMMA) has been awarding scholarships to local students since 1985, and Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) is teaming up with the organization on its latest endeavor.  With the higher costs of education, SMMA wants to increase scholarship awards to further assist students in covering these costs. Many students will graduate from a university and have a debt burden that will take years to pay off. To make this possible our newest project entails the SMMA Gear Up 10 Mile Run. 

The SMMA Gear Up 10 Mile Run, which will benefit area students with ambitions to pursue higher education at a number of area educational institutions, will take place on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 7:00 a.m. at the Tanger Outlet Center in San Marcos.  Join the fun and help raise funds to provide scholarships to area students seeking higher education.

The Race:

The SMMA Gear Up 10 Mile Run will start promptly at 7:00 a.m. Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the Tanger Outlet Center, San Marcos. Please be sure to arrive 45 minutes prior to the race in order to have enough time to pick up your runner packet.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-35 to San Marcos, Exit 200, Center Point Rd.

The Course:

Our scenic hill country race course is located on a fairly challenging course on rural roads of the Tanger Outlet Center. It is a ten mile course and has moderately rolling hills. THE COURSE WILL CLOSE AT 10:30 A.M.

Awards:

Awards will be presented to the male and female Overall, Masters (over 40), Senior Masters (50-59) and Grand Master (60 and over) champions, and to the top 3 finishers in each age division. The awards presentation will be at 9:30 a.m

1-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Addtiional:

All participants will receive a long-sleeved high-tech T-shirt along with a collectable commemorating the run.

This race will be timed and scored by Athlete Guild using computer chip time software.

You will be issued a race number.  Race numbers will be distributed in your Race Packet. Please read Packet Pickup for more information.  Attach your number to your clothing on the front side of your body, so that your number can be clearly seen and read by race officials as you approach the finish line. Do not remove the tear-off tag prematurely. 

Failure to observe instructions may result in your being disqualified from consideration for awards and not being listed in the race results.
