1000 Strong Overcoming Obstacles 5K

Restoration House Ministries' trail race features permanent structures, pop up challenges, and mud pits that will not only give you a great work out but also satisfy that inner desire to OVERCOME! These same obstacles that will be used for health, well-being and competition will be a symbol of how we can overcome all of our obstacles with God's love working though our community. And in doing so, you will be supporting young women & men in overcoming their obstacles of trauma, abuse and addictions and helping put the homeless in our community on a path to restoration.

The path is on and off road and is considered a trail run. Follow this link for a printable map & reminders. Path is accessible by foot year-round and is mowed starting in February.

Early Check-In

Sleep in and skip the lines on race day! Come see us at Early Packet Pick Up (bib, wristband, tshirt) for racers at Restoration House Ministries Gleanings Resale Shop (1204 N. Moody) the night before on Friday from 5pm-7pm and enjoy an additional 10% off everything in the store.

Awards

The first 3 finishers in adults (20yr+) and youth (<20yr) racing in each category (5k, Obstacle 5k) will be awarded and recognized at closing ceremonies.

Obstacles

If you register for the obstacle 5k category, you'll receive a paper wristband at check-in. The obstacles are described on our website www.RestorationHouseMinistries.org/5k-event and on our race facebook page https://www.facebook.com/1000StrongRace

General Tips

• Workout gloves will help you on the pressure wall and monkey bars.
• Teammates can also help you complete an obstacle.
• You can skip an obstacle for 20 burpees.
• If you can do neither, surrender your bracelet to the obstacle volunteer. You can still complete the race but just will be unable to receive an award. 
• Teams must complete the race and finish together--no one left behind.

Spectators

All are welcome to spectate and enjoy the day. Just make sure to take HWY59/Moody St to Timber/HWY 236 to access Patriot Park and bring a camp chair.

FAQs

• Skip the obstacles? Yes! You can register just to do the 5K and welcome to attempt at obstacle you like. If you register for the obstacle 5K, you can skip any obstacle for 20 burpees and still be eligible for 1st-3rd. If you can't do either, just surrender your obstacle bracelet. 

• Team Cost? Team members will pay $45 until the 5th person signs up, at which point, the first 4 will get a $5 refund and each additional team member will only pay $40.

• Team Size? Your team can be any size you want.

• Team Trophy? Teams of 5 or more are eligible to win the Corporate Cup, which is given to the first team to cross the finish line TOGETHER.

• After registering? You can join a team even if you've already registered. Click the link in your confirmation email or message us.
