Frequently Asked Questions (actually, nobody has asked yet, but I think you might)

  • What counts as acceptable "running"?
    • Any intentional running, walking, jogging, striding - you name it. They keys are 
      • Intentional - this isn't miles you happen to accumulate while taking out the trash. This is intentionally covering ground on a track, road or trail - but on purpose.
      • Movement - maybe you planned on a 3 mile run but it turned into a 2 mile run with a 1 mile walking cooldown. Cool! Count every bit of that (spoiler alert - you'll probably end up walking some on race day, so this is race-specific preparation!)
  • Can I count running I do as part of a cross training exercise?
    • Is it intentional? Is it covering ground? Count it. This whole thing is honor system, so you'll have to figure out the best way to measure your time/distance, but that's cool. We're not splitting hairs - we're running...way easier.
  • What about if I just want to run for fun; no time, no set distance?
    • Cool! I call those naked runs, and despite the name, clothes are still a good idea. Chuck the watch, the pace plan and the agenda - just go, man. That's great. If you want it to count towards the challenge, when you're done estimate to your best ability what you just did. Obviously if you cheat, you're only cheating yourself.
