Hero Half 15 week training Program
The 2024 Hero Half Marathon Training Program will start Saturday June 29th and meet in person every Saturday until race day! Training program is designed for beginners and experienced runners alike. Beginner runners will need to be able to run 1 mile prior to starting the training program on Saturday June 29th. Meeting place is Veteran's Park at Lake Fayetteville, and will use multiple portions of the actual race course! Registration fee includes entry into the half marathon, run coaching by coach Drew Conner(see his bio below), official 2024 training tank, one free PT visit at Rise Physical Therapy to first 25 registrations, and runner goody bag items! All for $200!!
A Fayetteville native, Drew Conner is a husband, father of two, and full time running coach for Microcosm Coaching. After graduating from the University of Central Arkansas with his BS in dietetics & clinical nutrition and letterman in Cross Country and Track, he managed one of the U.S.'s top specialty running stores, Rush Running Company, for over 14 years. His running philosophy is "mind over matter" and that with the right mindset and training plan, anything is possible. Drew has been running for over 20 years and a coach for over 10. He is an expert in working with both seasoned elites and total beginners. "I'm excited about the opportunity to partner with the Hero Half Marathon and help lead their training program. I've been a participant in this race for years, so taking the next step in involvement is awesome! I look forward to working with people of all ability levels to ensure they achieve their goal of running this amazing race.
