The Myers Mile

A Virtual Track Camp, From April 27 - June 6

F.A.Q.

You've got questions, we've got answers!

Q: What is the Myers Mile virtual track camp?
A: The Myers Mile is a resource to help you with your training this spring now that the OHSAA track season has been officially cancelled.  This virtual track camp will link you up with other runners online, provide training and racing advice, and offer you a chance to race an all-out mile at the end of the season.  In short, we're here to fill the void left by the loss of the track season - and we're here to help you reach your potential as a runner.

Q: Who can take part in the Myers Mile?  And what if I sign up after the camp's opening date?
A: The program is designed for track and cross country athletes in high school and middle school.  The virtual camp is here for runners both in Ohio and throughout the United States.  You can sign up at any time during the duration of camp.  We'll share all camp content on a page so that you'll be able to access anything you missed earlier in the season.

Q: What do I get when I take part in the Myers Mile?
A: This free program provides a number of perks.  You'll receive access to two coaching messages a week.  In these, we'll share advice and training details from athletes and coaches at the top of the sport, including the Myers brothers.  You'll learn from runners like 3:53 miler Rob Myers.  You'll gain insights from coaches like former Ohio State cross country coach Chad Myers.  And you'll have some fun courtesy of sub-15 5k runner Ben Myers.   We'll also be sharing tips and workouts from members of CRC Elite, the post-collegiate racing team sponsored by the Columbus Running Company.  Each piece of the program is optional, but you can link up with other runners on Strava and even take part in a virtual track meet at the end of the season, focused on racing your best mile.

Q: The program ends with a virtual mile?  How does that work?
A: We'll share a portal where you can upload your mile results.  You'll just have to get to a track or find a flat, fast stretch to race on, and then it's time to give it your all.  The virtual race, just like the rest of the program, is free.

Q: My coach has a program in place for us during this off-season.  Can I still take part in the Myers Mile?
A: Your coach understands you as a runner better than anyone, so follow their plan.  But yes, you can still take part in the Myers Mile.  We'll be sharing information that can boost anyone's training, so sign up to receive valuable insights into our sport that can help you to reach your potential.
