Earning My Glass Slipper

In February of 2014, I will be running the Walt Disney World® Princess Glass Slipper Challenge as part of the Run GKTW Team. My goal is to raise $3,000 for Give Kids The World, a non-profit that exists solely to fulfill the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. These deserving families are treated to weeklong fantasy vacations to Central Florida where accommodations, attraction tickets, entertainment, meals and more are all provided at no cost.
Give Kids The World has been awarded a four-star rating for sound fiscal management for eight consecutive years by Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent evaluator of charities. In 2010, GKTW was recognized as the #1 most fiscally responsible charity by Worth Magazine, and MSN Money named GKTW the Highest Rated Charity in America in 2012. Give Kids The World’s commitment to accountability and transparency assures supporters that their donation is used in the most responsible and efficient way possible.
Since its founding in 1986, Give Kids The World has welcomed more than 125,000 families from all 50 states and more than 70 countries. In 2012, the Village served 7,337 families—the highest number in the organization’s 27 year history. During my trip to Orlando, I will have the opportunity to visit Give Kids The World Village and see the impact of your donations first-hand.
