The Patients and Friends Research Fund is an organization that financially supports the UVA Cancer Center and promotes cancer awareness in the community. Every dollar raised by PFRF is used to support innovative cancer research and provide patients with access to state-of-the-art medical technology. By contributing to their fundraising efforts, the Pi Miler event is able to directly help cancer researchers at the University as well as improve the care of cancer patients. The battle against cancer will most likely continue to be long and difficult. As such, it is important that the Charlottesville community participates in the fight against this complex and devastating disease. Your contribution to PFRF is unique in this regard because it is often the only way the researchers are able to experiment with the most cutting edge therapeutics.
