Description
The Reaching 4 The Cure Virtual 5K And Kids Run is a fun and meaningful way to contribute to the fight against pediatric cancer.
Due to the emergency conditions surrounding COVID-19, this event is a virtual race. A virtual event means that everyone can participate by doing their walk or run on their own (following social distancing guidelines).
Did You Know…
· 1 in every 285 children will be diagnosed with cancer.
· Cancer is the number one cause of death by disease among children.
· The average cost of a stay in a hospital for a child with cancer is $40,000.
· 43 children per day are expected to be diagnosed with cancer.
· Only 4% of federal government cancer research funding goes to study pediatric cancer.
There is now hope for progress in the battle against pediatric cancer, and your participation can make an impact and help save these kids' lives!
All proceeds from the race will benefit the Forever Moriah Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing hope and healing to children fighting cancer and their families. The Foundation was created in memory of Moriah Richardson, a four-year-old little girl who fought DIPG, an terminal and inoperable form of pediatric cancer or 3 years before passing away from the disease on September 13, 2013.
Please share your pictures and videos of your virtual runs in our Facebook Event Page. You can also post on any social media platform and tag the Forever Moriah Foundation (@ForeverMoriahFoundation) and include the hashtags #ForeverMoriah and #Reaching4TheCure.
Stay safe and healthy, and thank you for your support.
Please sign up by June 15th, 2020.
