Description
Kick off the 2017 cross country season with the Hills Take Skills Preseason Challenge. Set in the mountains by Shenandoah National Park, this exciting trail run will put your toughness to the test. Public school, private school, and homeschool students are welcome to run, as teams or as individuals. Cool down with a dip in the 4H Club pool after conquering the course—you will have earned it!
Entry Fees
- Individuals $15
- Team Entry $45 (High school & middle school male and female teams)
- Team Entry $45 (Elementary schools coed teams)
- A dip in the pool is $4 paid onsite.
A small fee is also added by RunSignUp for transaction processing.
Team Setup
Coaches must setup and pay for a team entry before team members can signup and join the team. A team can be created by clicking here. Once the team is created, share the link created by the team registration process to invite team members to join the team.

- 5K Female
- 3K Male
- 3K Female
- 2K Co-ed
Awards
All races are run co-ed, but there are separate awards by gender for 3k and 5k, but gender neutral for 2k. Awards go 3 deep.
Team Scoring
The first five runners on a team in each division will score for the team with unlimited team entries and all runners (even individual runners that are unaffiliated with a team) displace other teams. Each race distance is only run once. Male and female will start at the same time. Male and female runners in the 5K place against their own gender. Male and female runners in the 3K place against their own gender. Male and female runners in the 2K place against all runners.
