A Walk You'll Remember: Dedicated to Barbara Louwers

The members of Sigma Kappa and Tau Kappa Epsilon hold this annual 5K held at the EJC Arboretum at JMU, and all students and the Harrisonburg community are welcome to come join us in the fight to end Alzheimer's! Alzheimer's disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the U.S., and it is the only cause of death in the top 10 in America that cannot be prevented, cured, or slowed. We dedicate this Walk to Barbara Louwers, past wife of JMU's greatly admired accounting professor Tim Louwers. Barbara passed away in 2014 at the age of 50 after her prolonged fight against Early Onset Alzheimer's. This event will include barbeque food, snacks & refreshments catered by Aramark, and live music by a local band, The Sailing Club!
