Lynchburg Turkey Trot -- with a "virtual" twist on tradition
In the year that has been 2020 – we’re re-imagining what our annual community tradition will look like by delivering cheer, holiday family fun, and spreading community spirit right to your doorstep. In light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, we’ve made plans to deliver this tradition in a whole new way.
The Lynchburg Turkey Trot 5K is still the beloved event it has always been, and this year instead of having a mass gathering event, participants can run or walk from anywhere on a date of their choosing between November 21 – November 28. Introducing...the Virtual Lynchburg Turkey Trot 5K.
Please remember, the Lynchburg Turkey Trot is more than just a tradition – every registration feeds TWO families a Thanksgiving meal. Your support allows his to happen. HumanKind is seeing some of the highest needs during these pandemic months and there is no doubt in our mind that this may be the most important Thanksgiving we’ve seen yet.
So, here’s how it works...Register, get your gear mailed to you or at the drive-thru packet pick up, select a day of your choice to run or walk on a course of your choosing or treadmill, use our race app to keep track, submit your results to be added to the virtual leader board, and don’t forget to wear your turkey swag!
