Description

MTV 6K run is back after 6 years gap since 2018!

We are bringing back the tradition of MTV 6K run and creating a legacy to enable this fun annual event as a platform to give back to the community – raising funds for non-profit charity organizations.

This year 2024, Micron is proudly partnering with Casa BruMar Foundation to bring you the 2024 MTV 6K Rainbow Run and 1-mile Rainbow Walk.

This event is open to ALL Micron/Casa BruMar employees, families, and friends.

All Run/Walk registration fees proceeds will benefit this charitable organization.
(Run $30, Walk $15 – family of 5 or more cap at $75, kids under 5 can participate for free!)

When signing up for the 6K, your donation will be $27.20, a $2.80 registration fee is also included in the price.
When signing up for the 1-mile, your donation will be $13.10, a $1.90 registration fee is also included in the price.

Casa BruMar’s mission is to bridge the gap that leaves the LGBTQ+ community behind when it comes to equality in education, social services, and human dignity in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Casa BruMar Foundation’s charitable purposes are to provide a physical meeting space and community social services to at-risk and disadvantaged individuals experiencing homelessness, abandonment, and cruelty, especially members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (“LGBTQ+”) community.
Casa BruMar Foundation’s educational purposes include the encouragement and support of members of the LGBTQ+ community in their academic endeavors as they heal and rebuild after traumatic life-changing experiences.

Feel free to dress up in vibrant colors and show your true inner rainbow to make the morning as bright and fun as possible! With two distances to choose from, there are options for all abilities.

1 mile walk: Top 3 prizes will be awarded to best rainbow theme/colorful dressed participants!
6 km run: Top 3 prizes will be awarded to best runners from each category!

Packet Pickup

Saturday, 11/02, 8:00 am – 9:00 am at Micron in Manassas in front of the Micron Team Members Center Building.
If you have the QR code from your registration email available on your phone or printed out as you pick up your packet, we will be able to look you up super-fast and get you ready to race.
At packet pickup, you will receive your custom bib number. 6K runner’s bibs will also include a disposable timing chip.

Race Day Schedule

Race Start Times: 6K start time: 9:00 am; 1-Mile start time: 9:15 am.

Discount Pricing

Register 5 or more family members for the 1-mile and your registration fee will be capped at $75 (Valid for up to 8 registrations). All registrations must be done at the same time and added to the same checkout for the multi-person pricing option to become available. If eligible, make sure to select the Multi-Person Pricing option during registration.
All participants aged 5 and under in the 1-mile walk are free.

The Course

Strollers: allowed | Pets: not allowed due to safety concerns
The 1-Mile Run/Walk IS NOT timed.

The race route is closed to spectators. Only authorized race staff and traffic control employees are permitted on the race route.

SWAG and Awards

All 6K runners will receive a custom bib and a digital finisher’s certificate.
The top three 6K finishes in each category will win an award courtesy of Casa BruMar Foundation.
Awards will be given to the top 3 best and brightest rainbow outfits for the 1-mile walk.

Donations

Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and help fund the first LGBTQ+ community center/shelter for LGBTQ+ youth in Northern Virginia.
