Description

LAST STAND 1776 BACKYARD ULTRA
June 13, 2026 • 7:00 AM • Midlothian, VA

This isn’t just a race — it’s a mission. (as crazy as it might seem)

On June 13th, step into a one‑of‑a‑kind endurance challenge honoring freedom, sacrifice, and America’s 250th birthday… with grit, determination and just a touch of  insanity.

Every step you take supports the Semper Fi Fund, providing critical assistance to wounded, ill, and injured service members, veterans, and their families. Your miles have meaning.

WHAT’S A BACKYARD ULTRA?
A battle of will, strategy, and mental toughness — not speed.

Every hour on the hour, you run a 4.167‑mile loop. You have a one hour time limit to complete the loop. Finish in time? You earn the right to run again.   All you need to do is make it to the start line on the hour before the bell rings and you are off on your next adventure.

Miss the cutoff? Your race ends.

That’s the magic: it’s your race to run. One loop or twenty — you choose your challenge.

Set a mileage goal. Hit a milestone. Chase a breakthrough. Go for the win. There are no losers… just some who last a little longer and go a little further.

Can you dig deep enough to say “ONE MORE LOOP”?

HOW FAR CAN YOU GO?
Each loop unlocks a milestone:

1 loop — 4.12 miles — 5K +

3 loops --- 10K

4 loops — 16.64 miles — Half Marathon +

7 loops — 29.12 miles — Marathon +

8 loops — 33.28 miles — 50K +

13 loops — 54.08 miles — 50 Miles +

15 loops — 62.4 miles — 100K +

24 loops — 100 miles — The Big One

How far will you go?

WHY YOU CAN’T MISS THIS
Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with purpose.
Run under the big Virginia sky — trails, bridges, lakeside views.
Test your body, mind, and spirit in a format that reveals who you are.

Experience the unmatched camaraderie of an ultra:

Runners lifting each other up and encouraging one another mile after mile
Support Crews cheering for every runner every loop
Spectators celebrating with you every time you complete a loop
Friendships forged, some may last a lifetime
Run 1 loop, 5, 10 or more— the encouragement only grows. Every finished loop is a celebration.

Join a community where every finisher is a champion and every loop is a celebration of the enduring American spirit. From the camaraderie in the corral to the final 'assist' on the trail, this is where stories of resilience are written in sweat and determination. Your miles have meaning. Your grit has a legacy.  It's time to write your own story!

Join us on June 13th for a tribute like no other."
