Disclaimer: This event is created by an individual to benefit Feed More. It is NOT an event created by Feed More. 100% of the profit (after taxes and fees) goes directly to Feed More. I will be as transparent as possible in regards to taxes and fees, please contact me if you have any concerns.
It does not matter if you run, jog, or walk. As long as you are doing it, you are supporting the cause! Go Short Shorts!
Why?
There is a lot of need in Central Virginia – 1 in 8 Central Virginians is food insecure, meaning that more than 193,000 of our neighbors are not receiving the necessary nutrition. And of that, more than 47,000 children, or 1 in 7, in Central Virginia do not know when or from where they will receive their next meal. Many of these residents in need are people from our running community, and it is our duty to give a share!
How?
By signing up for the virtual 5k, you will be providing 50 meals to your neighbors in need. In addition, if you would like to donate more money, you are more than welcome to select the donate option. Remember, every dollar that you give can provide 5 meals!
Remember to report your time after you are finished! You can do this by going to the "Results" page in the menu and click "Submit Virtual Results" (result submission is not necessary, as long as you signed up, the money will go to Feed More!)
We will mail out free stickers to all participants at the end of the event.
