It would not be a Flynn/Cario wedding if there were not some running included! (We're crazy, we know).
We will be having a 3k race (run or walk - whatever you prefer) the morning of the wedding. All proceeds (the $15 registration fee) will go directly to The Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation (VBCF). Breast Cancer/Cancer in general has been something our families have always unfortunately had to deal with, but we have been pretty fortunate. We would like to help others be fortunate as well and that's why all proceeds will be going to the VBCF.
The race will be at Belle Isle at 7:00am on 10/5/2019. We will run two loops around on a soft cinder/dirt surface. The only rule of the race - the bride & groom must win ;). If you can't make it to downtown Richmond you can still support by signing up as a virtual runner and running a 3k from wherever you are!
Directions: From Hilton or Marriott hotel - Turn left (one way) out of hotel onto 5th street. Take 5th street all the way to the bottom and turn right onto Tredegar St. There will be a parking lot about half a mile down on the right. Walking, turn right out of the parking lot and head up and over the pedestrian bridge to Belle Isle. Starting line will be about 50 meters after you get over the bridge.
VBCF is a statewide, Richmond-based nonprofit committed to the eradication of breast cancer through education and advocacy.
Establish the eradication of breast cancer as a state and national priority; Advocate for the collective needs of people affected by breast cancer; Educate all Virginians on the facts about breast cancer.
