Description
Founded in 1879, Fishburne exists to Forge Educated - Honorable young men of Courage. Be one (1) of the 879 to participate in this first of a series of yearly - walk / walk your dog / push a stroller / jog / run / cycle events - culminating with the 150th Birthday of the oldest school of its kind in the Western Hemisphere and registered national historic site. As you participate, know that your registration fee helps area cadets underwrite programs and related expenses.
So grab a friend, neighbor, classmate, colleague, and create your own Fishburne 150 TEAM. Plan your event wherever you want, make sure to take pictures and upload them, and tailgate afterward!
At the end of registration, we ask you to also pick another area youth non-profit to direct a portion of your registration towards. They are;
Bike Box of the Blue Ridge, giving children without the ability to purchase bicycles, a bicycle. Helping them fix their bicycles if they have one, and offering other bicycle-related activities.
Virginia Institute of Autism, which serves families in a multi-county region surrounding us with in-home, educational, and other much needed key family services.
Be a part of history, start a new tradition, and start this year to collect all 10 medals. Do something small to get fit, build memories, and experience the big results of the activity.
Participation
Registering for the Fishburne 150 gives you the ability to participate in the event in three different ways.
Once you've registered, you will be able to submit Virtual Results on the RunSignup race website. When submitting your virtual results, you will notice a drop down box in the upper left hand corner of your screen. You will select one of three activity types to submit your time for. The different activities are as follows.
The 5k Shuffle
Jog, run, move faster than a walk
The 15k Bicycle or Stationary Bike
Move by pedaling something
The 5k walk
Walk your dog, push a stroller, move faster than a crawl
Our Non-Profit Partners
When registering, you will have the opportunity to select one non-profit organization to receive 10 percent of your registration fee.
