17th Annual Williamsburg Landing 5k Run/Walk for The Arc

Please read below for important details and reminders to ensure a smooth and enjoyable race day! As a reminder, the event is taking place this Saturday, October 3rd at the beautiful campus of Williamsburg Landing. 

Parking: 
Event Parking will be at Laurel Lane Elementary School, located at 112 Laurel Lane, across from Williamsburg Landing. Please watch for signs and volunteers directing traffic. Shuttles will be available starting at 7:15am to take you to and from The Doig Health Club and Spa, located at 3000 The Mall, or you may walk if you desire. It is a distance of about half a mile. 
 
Timeline:
7:30am: Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup Begins
8:30am: One Mile Fun Run Begins
9:00am: 5k Run/Walk Begins
10:15am: Awards Ceremony and Raffle Prizes
*For those wishing to register on the day of, same-day registration for the 5k will end at 8:45am sharp.
 
Bag Drop: 
Participants will be able to drop their bags and personal items in the fitness center at The Doig Health Club and Spa at Williamsburg Landing, where you will also check in for the race. 
 
Course Map: 
Nestled in the tree covered hills surrounding Williamsburg, this out-and-back course traverses the campus of Williamsburg Landing. Volunteers will direct you through the course, and I have attached a map to this email as well for your information. There will be a water station at the halfway mark, provided by Ferguson Enterprises. 
 
Additional Details: 
- Raffle prizes will be available! Please stop by the raffle table to purchase raffle tickets for a variety of prizes such as William & Mary Athletics season passes, Busch Gardens tickets, restaurant gift cards, and more! Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20 and can be purchased with cash, check, or credit card.
- Please stick around for the awards ceremony, as the top 3 overall and in each age  category will be honored. 
- Thanks to Anna's Pizza, participants will celebrate completing the course with a slice of Anna's delicious pizza! Williamsburg Landing will provide water bottles and light snacks.
- Participants who registered prior to September 15th will have a shirt waiting for them at registration. If you registered after the deadline, we have a VERY limited number of extra shirts and cannot guarantee for everyone else. 
- Restrooms are available in The Doig Health Club and Spa.

This year marks the 50th year The Arc of Greater Williamsburg has proudly served adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Williamsburg community. The Arc's support services provide educational, vocational, health and wellness, life skills, cultural, social, and recreational programs. In addition, we provide much needed respite for families and caregivers. REGISTRATION:

The registration is $50 per entrant and increases to $55 on Wednesday, September 9th ***Deadline extended***. Registered entrants aged ten and under are free. Online registration closes at midnight on Sunday, September 27th. Same day registration begins at 7:30am at Williamsburg Landing. Credit cards, cash, and checks (made out to The Arc of Greater Williamsburg) are accepted at the race. Raffle tickets for amazing prizes will be sold! All entrants registered by September 14th will receive a T-shirt in the requested size. All others will receive T-shirts IF available. 

SCHEDULE:

7:30am: Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup

9:00am: 5k Run and 5k Walk
10:15am: Awards Ceremony and Door Prizes

COURSE:  

Nestled in the tree covered hills surrounding Williamsburg, this out-and-back course traverses the 152 acre campus of Williamsburg Landing, which neighbors College Creek. Registration will be at the William A. Doig Health Club and Spa, located at 3000 The Mall.  

PARKING & SHUTTLES:

REFRESHMENTS:  

Light snacks, fruit, and water will be provided. Pizza will also be available courtesy of Anna's Brick Oven Pizza!

AWARDS:  

Prizes will be awarded for top finishers in different age categories.

While your registration is an incredible way to support The Arc, we also invite you to make/join a team or participate in fundraising! Making or joining a team is a great way to help us spread the word and make the 16th Annual event the largest one yet! 

DISCOUNTS 

• Children 10 and under are free and it will automatically apply. 

• For Arc clients, use code CLIENT at the final check-out screen for $20 registration. Please note this code is for the Arc client ONLY, and should not be used by family and friends. 

• For middle, high school, and college students, use code STUDENT at the final check-out screen for $25 registration.
